Each days activities will be guided by a particular theme, including, but not limited to, birds, weather, and water. One day, students will be exploring the nooks and crannies of the park, uncovering insects, and plant life, assembling their own scientific collecting tools. And then the next, they will be reflecting in the de Young tower, writing their very own origin myths, using all they have collected as inspiration. While other days they will be mapping the park, tromping around Strawberry Hill, learning about characters and language, and personifying clouds. Learning through doing–sharpening their scientific and writing minds.

Explore. Observe. Listen.

In this weeklong outdoor camp, children will explore Golden Gate Park, with its many places, plants, and animals.

Sketch. Write.

They will learn to transform what they see, hear, and experience into imaginative and inspired stories, poems, and art work.

What will they be doing?
What will each day look like?

"My camper had a great time learning about nature in a fun, welcoming environment. The camp far exceeded my expectations. Notes on Nature should be commended for their collective effort." -Parent
